Smith Mansion Preservation Project

Clean-Up February 20-21st, 2010

9:30 am - 3:00 pm

If you would like to volunteer your time and be apart of this Preservation Clean-Up, please continue to Email us at:  pslarsen@netzero.net

We will be emailing a final information guide to everyone.

WORK TO BE COMPLETED: Removing all trash, old wood, broken items, misc furniture and many other items. This clean-up involves inside the mansion's first floor and the property itself. All metals are being recycled here in Billings. We will be burning as much as possible to reduce loads to the dump.

Helpful Tools: Shovels,  Cutting torches (cut metal down to size for recycling), Hammers, Chainsaw, Rake, Dust Pan / Broom, Gloves,  Wheel barrows

REMINDER OF DANGERS PRESENTThis is a volunteer project to help restore a part of Wapiti's history. There are obvious dangers present. Climbing in and around the structure does hold many hazards, as do the grounds of the property. Please watch your step while at the site, there are many area's to get hurt. We are not liable for injuries. All volunteers must sign a Release and Waiver of Liability Agreement prior to the Clean-up. Those will be available on site.

FACILITIES are available at the Red Barn Store, courtesy of owner: Chet Lenik. They also have hot coffee, soda, etc.Water will be available on site and lunch will be served Feb 20th as a small token of our appreciation. For Feb 21st clean-up, please bring a sack lunch.

DIRECTIONS: West from Cody, take US-14 to Wapiti. At the Red Barn (2924 North Fork Hwy), take a left onto Green Creek Road (road right before the Red Barn), from Green Creek, take first right onto Paintbrush Dr, straight down Paintbrush Dr. #31 (Road is not maintained on property, we recommend four wheel drive truck or suv)

Please remember to dress warmly and bring a good pair of gloves. Prepare to get a little dirty, have some fun, and experience the Smith Mansion for yourself. We look forward to seeing everyone there! Thank You!
